PISTOL LEAGUE
The club fields two teams who compete in the Twin County Pistol League. The RED team and the BLUE team shoot every Tuesday night from September thru March. Matches take place at several clubs located throughout Bristol and Plymouth county. The course of fire is the NRA 50' gallery course. It is fired using .22 caliber pistols off hand. There are three phases to the match: Slow fire, 10 rounds fired in 10 minuets, timed fire, 10 rounds fired in 40 seconds and rapid fire, 10 rounds in 20 seconds. The top 5 individual scores are used to determine the team score which is used to decide the winner. Competition exists on all levels and the league is open to all members of the club. During the off season, there is an ad hoc handicap competition every Tuesday night at 8:00pm. This is a great time to acquaint yourself with the particulars of this discipline. The pistol teams are always open to new shooters so if you think that this type of shooting might be for you, stop by and watch a home match.
U.S.R.A. POSTAL MATCHES
These matches are run by the U.S. Revolver Association and administered by a club member. There are several different types of competition including a national match course, several center fire courses and an air pistol course. They are fired at your own leisure so long as the scores are submitted within the deadline constraints. Scores are then sent to the U.S.R.A. where they are recorded and ranked. Most members of the RED and BLUE teams use the U.S.R.A. matches as tune ups for the Tuesday night matches. JUNIOR TEAM
The junior rifle team shoots every Wednesday night. The team is open to all juniors from age 12 through high school. For more information, visit the JUNIORS page.
OUTDOOR RANGE SHOOTS
There are several shoots which are run at the outdoor range during the good weather. They include military rifle shoots, steel plate shoots and several other types of matches. Look in the NEWS section for postings of upcoming events.
TRAP SHOOTING
Trap shooting is held on the trap field at the outdoor range Sunday mornings at 10:00am during the summer months. The charge is $3.00 per 25 rounds (Not including ammo).
WORK PARTIES
Work details are called for at various times throughout the year. They are mostly utilized to conduct heavy maintenance on the indoor range backstop and for cleanup at the outdoor range. Announcements will be made on this site and posted at the club house. Come on down and support YOUR club!
