The Red and Blue pistol teams squared off on 2/27/07 for the first time on the new range. Although the range has been used for several pistol matches and is in use by the junior team, this is the first time that the two Taunton teams have faced each other on the new range. The opportunity was used to recognize the efforts of club president, Eric Dewhirst, in bringing the project to fruition. This endeavor has been a volunteer effort from the start and it would be impossible to recognize all of the hundreds of man hours put in by club members in building this range. However, Eric has been the guiding force in getting this project off of the ground and leading the way. A new range facility has been talked about for the past 30 years and is finally about to be a reality for our membership. The enormity of this task can not be overstated but with Eric's initiative and the selflessness of the volunteer help, we now have a modern, safe, range facility that will be in use far into the future. We owe these volunteers, and especially Eric Dewhirst, a debt of gratitude. Thanks. Job well done!
