The junior
rifle team is open to young men and women from age 12 through high school. They
shoot Wednesday nights starting at 5:30pm. The club maintains a supply of rifles
and equipment which is available to new shooters who do not have their own.
Instruction is given in all phases of small bore rifle competition. The team
also competes in various matches during the season. For the past several years,
members have participated in the NRA national match course at Camp Perry, Ohio.
Several members have gone on to compete in NCAA matches for college teams. There
are also postal matches which take place at different times along with club
competitions sponsored by GOAL.
This is a very active facet of the club and is a great
resource for those members who would like to have their child involved in safe,
disciplined, shooting instruction. The emphasis being on safe.
Practice is open for observation to anyone interested. So bring your young
shooter and check it out. For more information, e mail to: info@tauntonrifleandpistol.org
