The list is limited to the following calibers: TACTICAL STYLE CARBINES: COWBOY STYLE CARBINES 5.7x28mm FN (Lever action, pump action, ect.): .30 Carbine .32 H&R Magnum 380 ACP .32-20 WCF 9mm Luger .38 Special 40 S&W .357 Magnum 10mm Auto .38-40 WCF 45 ACP .41 Magnum .44 Special .44-40 WCF

10/19/08 New Trap Machine Now On Line A new "Pat-Trap" machine has been installed on the trap field at the out door range. This machine replaces the old, obsolete thrower. With the increase in interest in trap shooting, this machine should be better able to accommodate our needs. Trap shooting is held every Sunday and is open to members and non members alike. Come down and check us out.
10/15/08 Outdoor Range Weather Cancellation E Mail List We are in the process of establishing an E mail list to notify individuals in case of cancellation of trap shooting due to inclement weather. If you would like to be included on this notification list, please send an e mail message to: shotgunins@tauntonrifleandpistol.org . We will attempt to post a message to each person on the list the night before the shoot in the event that it becomes necessary to cancel.
6/28/08 Trap Fee Increase Like everything else, the cost of clay targets has increased of late forcing us to raise the cost of a round of trap from $2.50 to $3.00. This will take effect on July 1. The price is the same for members and non members and does not include the cost of ammunition. This is still a great deal. Where else can you get so much bang for 3 bucks? Everyone, members and non members alike, are invited to come down and shoot with us on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings.
3/3/08 WiFi Service Comes To The Club What do Starbucks and the Gun Club have in common? WiFi service of course! We now have wireless internet service available at our clubhouse. For those members who have a hard time getting away from their computer, you can come on down and surf the web on your lap top during your club visits. We do not however, offer Caramel Macchiatos at this time. (But we're working on it!)
10/27/07 ATTENTION...Changes To Approved Calibers List For The Indoor Range Members are reminded that only the calibers listed on the "APPROVED CALIBERS" list are approved for use on the indoor range. If a caliber is not listed, it CAN NOT BE USED on the indoor range. The only long guns approved for use indoors are .22 and .17 rim fire ONLY. All other rifles, including those chambered for common handgun calibers, are prohibited. Shotguns, and shot shells which can be used in a handgun, are also prohibited at all times. The following list of calibers, although they may be chambered in a handgun, are specifically prohibited: .454 Casull .460 S&W Mag. .475 Wildey Mag. .475 Linebaugh .500 Linebaugh .500 S&W Mag. .223 Rem (5.56x45mm) Nato Please remember that just because a caliber is not on the above list does not mean that it is approved for the range. Only the calibers which appear on the Approved Calibers list may be used. It is up to each individual member to be sure that the caliber you are using is approved. Members who violate this range rule will forfeit their membership and may be responsible for any damages incurred by the club. Click on this link for the list of calibers: APPROVED CALIBERS
10/14/07 Approved Calibers For Indoor Range For a list of the approved calibers for indoor range use, please go to the Member Info page. This regulation will be strictly enforced. If you are in doubt about using a certain caliber or type of firearm, don't use it. Check with someone from the E board. There is no room for error for violations of this regulation. If you are caught using a non approved caliber or firearm, you will be dismissed from the club.
